Senior Java Developer - Java, Microservices, JUnit, Docker, Kubernetes

Remote - £65,000 - £70,000 (A Security Clearance is required for this role - must have lived in the UK for the past 5 years)

Applause IT are looking for a Java Developer with experience of Java, microservices and unit testing to join an a expanding engineering team for a pioneer in data aggregation company.

The Java Developer will report to the Lead Developer, contributing to the development and delivery of their product roadmap. The client is moving towards a fully automated CI/CD pipeline, so experience with the design and implementation of unit tests such as JUnit is essential.

The successful Java Developer will have experience of:

Java

JUnit

Microservice based architectures using Docker including Swarm Mode or Kubernetes

SCM systems such as Git or Subversion

1st class or 2:1 degree in Computer Science or related subject It would be beneficial if you had knowledge of:

DevOps culture

Use of public cloud providers such as AWS as a target environment

CI/CD pipeline tooling such as Jenkins or GoCD

SQL databases and exposure to NoSQL databases

Server-side driven web-based applications

Java Enterprise Edition (JEE)A Security Clearance is required for this role - must have lived in the UK for the past 5 years
