Senior Software Support Engineer
Eastbourne
£38,000 - £45,000 DOE + Annual Bonus + Health Cash Plan + 25+8days Holidays + Up to 8% Employer Contribution + Generous Benefits package.
Senior Software Support Engineer needed for a highly successful division of an international manufacturer producing specialist equipment for the Semiconductor and electronics industries. They are world renowned for their products and offer a great working environment with generous benefits packages and salary.
This role will be suited to those with previous Software Support experience and those that are able to perform in-depth troubleshooting/diagnostics/investigations of in-house developed software packages. Those with relevant experience or transferable skills are also welcomed to apply. You should hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification ideally in computer science or a related discipline.
You will be helping to support pre-sales and post-sales technical delivery/support of software products in our global customer base, and to ensure that rigorous quality standards are applied at all levels. To be a product SME, performing in-depth troubleshooting/diagnostics/investigations of in-house developed software packages as deployed on customer sites. To troubleshoot machine to machine comms issues on customer Ethernet networks. Occasionally there will be a need to travel to international customers for pre-sales and post-sales technical activities. Advise on and take ownership of cases from support engineers to ensure issues are resolved within agreed SLAs.

The Role:
*To support pre-sales and post-sales technical delivery/support.
*To be a product SME, performing in-depth troubleshooting/diagnostics/investigations of in-house developed software packages.
*To provide pre-sales technical consultation with customers.
*To advise on and support internal (development environment) and customer (production) server virtualisation environments.
*To provide efficient project management of deliverables into customer sites.
*To be fully involved in software test lifecycle, writing test cases and executing test plans.
The Person:
*Should hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification ideally in computer science or a related discipline.
*Experience in taking software teams through changes in ways of working and new processes
*Experience Developing new software development processes.
*Significant experience working in a global engineering environment and working with international teams to deliver software support solutions.
*Significant experience working in a regulated, compliance-driven industry
*Experience in a project management role using both Waterfall and Agile (SCRUM) frameworks
