Our client is a growing SME who is seeking an Application Support Specialist to work in their small technical team in Wokingham. There is some opportunity to work remotely 2 days a week but otherwise this role will be office based. Our client has over 30 years' experience in the installation, support, integration and distribution of industry-leading computer-based business management software solutions. Their clients include high profile, industry leaders, property and estates managers, design professionals and project managers. This is a role where you can have real autonomy and develop your responsibilities.

Your role:

Based within the professional services team you will assist with upgrade and installation work both remotely and on client sites across the UK providing key DBA skills.

Providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support to clients as part of a team.

This is an evolving role with responsibilities increasing over time. Additional work may include but not be limited to training, installation and upgrades, service work and ultimately taking a technical prime role with our clients.Essential Skills

Knowledge of relational databases (MSSQL Server, Oracle)

Good understanding of SQL including writing and interpreting queries

Team player with the ability to respond and adapt quickly to changing needs

Effective communicator

Ability to estimate work and keep to deadlines

Desirable Skills

Experience of JavaScript, JQuery, Java and HTML/CSS

Web server setup and configuration (IIS, Apache Tomcat)

Experience in dealing with customers face to face

Determining job scope and managing expectations
