Job Description

Visa Corporate IT (CIT) group has embarked on a major technology transformation journey and Engineering, Apps and Analytics (EAA) team plays a key role transitioning Revenue and Pricing systems to next generation technologies. As part of this strategy, EAA - Web COE team is looking for curious, creative, and technology experts to join our growing team. We focus on delivering global platforms that enable Visa's Pricing, Invoicing and Operating Certificate applications, which are used by Visa business partners to service Visa clients globally.

The successful candidate is expected to be an expert in Java EE technologies and Open-Source web application frameworks within the Specialized Systems' DevOps team in Bangalore (India) office. The selected candidate will be fully accountable and responsible for solution design and delivery achieving engineering excellence of platforms and services.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for analysis, design, development, unit testing and support of Java EE applications and Open-Source web application frameworks to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the business functions
• Apply creative thinking / approaches to determine the best solutions embedding engineering and operational excellence practices
• Responsible to create high-level and technical design documents and test cases, and deployment plans
• Work closely with the application teams to ensure the successful delivery of business capabilities, and enhancements
• Liaise with internal business and technology groups (such as database administration, infrastructure support, development) in performing support activities, system configuration and standard functionality analysis for enhancement requests
• Adhere to well-defined support policies, procedures, and service levels with an understanding of SOX related IT controls
• Work in an agile project environment and follow agile methodologies with quick turnaround times
• Mentoring junior team members on technology

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications
• 7+ years of strong experience in Java EE technologies and Open-Source web application frameworks including Spring Boot, Apache Camel, MVC, Hibernate, Angular, CSS3, HTML5, and Web Services (REST/SOAP)
• Experience on microservices, containerization and ability to quickly build and drive team to support future systems
• Strong experience evaluating business requirements and translating them into technical designs documents
• Strong experience in Design Patterns, and data modelling
• Strong knowledge and experience working with Database systems like MongoDB and MySQL
• Good experience working on application servers like Apache Tomcat
• Good experience working in UNIX, Windows and Linux platforms
• Experience with build automation tools including Maven/Gradle/Jenkins/Grunt
• Exposure and good knowledge on web application security will be an added advantage
• Experience in version Control tools: SVN, Git or similar
• Experience with waterfall and agile methodologies, including knowledge of Agile model and DevOps working model
• Familiar with configuration/hardware/design and performance tuning techniques to ensure meeting performance goals
• Highly self-motivated and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies
• Strong written communication, oral communication, inter-personnel skills with attention to details
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a team
• Able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet aggressive timelines
• Team player with a can-do attitude
