We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to join the business on a permanent basis at our Crewe campus (with hybrid working). Reporting to the Head of Technical Conformity, the Technical Project Manager will support the successful achievement of the engineering project deliverables relating to certification and legislation within Technical Conformity. The role facilitates and coordinates the Engineering delivery and technical status of relevant projects to deliver against the agreed milestones.
Engineering Technical Conformity ensure compliance of all Bentley vehicles with applicable legislation to enable their sale. In addition, they safeguard the end customer and the Bentley brand by ensuring errors in the design and development process are prevented from becoming consequential.
Key responsibilities include:
Project manage the delivery of the vehicle certification activities, with active management of the critical path, identifying potential risks and deploying mitigations
Represents Technical Conformity in the R&D module to ensure the successful achievement of the engineering project deliverables
Represents Technical Conformity in relevant business forums related to Project delivery and status
Responsible for management and communication of project content to secure departmental and cross functional buy-in to technical targets, timing and cost
Conducts forward planning of programmes in line with PEP deliverables
About the person
The successful candidate will be in Project Manager role within the automotive / engineering sector with proven ability to project manage key technical topics, driving varied projects through the different stages to achieve key milestones throughout the different functional areas. You will have established communication, influencing and presentation skills that can deliver to a varied and wide audience at senior level. You will ideally have experience / knowledge of vehicle legislation/certification, this is not essential but you will need some experience gained from a vehicle conformity environment.
You will demonstrate:
Previous experience of Project Management within a technically challenging vehicle conformity environment
Examples of managing multiple projects simultaneously
Communication, influencing and presenting skills to senior level
IT skills including advanced PowerPoint
