Job Description Summary Here at Lloyds Banking Group we're recruiting a Data Engineer role.
At Lloyds Banking Group, we have a clear purpose; to help Britain prosper and to become the best bank for our customers. What we do makes a genuine difference to families, businesses and communities, and we're playing a central role in building a growing UK economy.
Our brands, our services and our business span every aspect of banking and finance, including some of the biggest names on the UK's high streets. That gives us a big responsibility to support the UK economy.
Here in Consumer Relationships Chief Operating Office (COO) we're the 'engine room' for the division. The purpose and remit of our team is focused on delivering support functions that operate across the Retail Bank. In addition, we support multiple business areas with specialist teams, creating centres of excellence that allow the overall business to operate safely and effectively. We're the primary source of 'join up' for the division, being able to work with each area to ensure the effective running of the Retail Bank.
Our Resilience and Response team sits within Consumer Relationships COO, providing a centre of excellence to support the Retail Bank business areas. Our team is responsible for Service control and incident management; Application ownership and data assurance; Operational Reporting; and running the ATM estate, as well as providing operational oversight for mobile branches.
What will you be doing?
As the Data Engineer, you'll join the Data Engineering and Insight team working to handle and process data through SAS for our Partners.
Our team builds and maintains a SAS Datamart and suite of reporting for our Customers. We also collaborate closely with the wider team to ensure requirements are captured and delivered to agreed timescales and within the appropriate framework.
Specifically, as a Data Engineer within the team you'll:
Support the Data requirements process through interaction with customers
Ensure compliance with internal governance gateways to create a strong audit trail of the end-to-end requirements and development cycle
Work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy
Manage and minimise operational risk
Positively influence others by demonstrating core LBG values and behaviours.
You'll follow our team's hybrid working model, combining working from home the majority of the time, with being in the office for training and collaborative working purposes. We're happy to consider agile and flexible working options.
You'll have a keen interest in furthering your career in an analytical field, and will ideally have worked in a data focussed team in the past.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Competent level knowledge and practical hands-on experience of using SAS via SAS Enterprise Guide
SQL Server knowledge
Understanding of ETL principles
Desirable Skills and Experience:
SAS Platform server administration knowledge would be advantageous, but not essential as training will be given.
In addition, you'll have excellent analytical skills, ability to deliver at pace, and desire to develop an understanding of relevant reporting systems, data, and associated processes.
So what can we offer you in return?
You'll receive a package that includes:
Discretionary performance share award
Private Medical Insurance
Generous pension contribution
28 days leave plus bank holidays
Flexible cash pot (4% on top of base salary) to spend on benefits.

So if you'd like to be part of our inclusive values-based culture, and want to be stretched and fulfilled, we'll help you build a career that will make a difference to you and our customers.
Together we make it possible.
