Role: ICT Application Service & Support Analyst
Location: Waterwells Dr. 1 day remote
Pay: £250-£360 Per Day
The role of the Applications Service & Support Analyst:
To support and provide application services to internal customers throughout the Constabulary including but not limited to Command & Control, HR and Finance Services, using agreed procedures.
To support existing services to meet or exceed agreed service levels.
Installation and configuration of client software to meet business requirements.
Working as part of a small team you will be expected to share knowledge and learn from others in order to provide resilience in key areas.
To support various other key applications and to assist in incident and problem resolution across the Constabulary. Fulfilling service requests, and using escalation procedures when required.
To contribute towards scheduling and the execution of releases of software.
Create and maintain support documentation, enabling resilience and knowledge transfer within the team.Skills Overview

Support typically includes investigation and resolution of issues and may also include performance monitoring. Issues may be resolved by providing advice or training to users, by devising corrections (permanent or temporary) for faults, making general or site-specific modifications, updating documentation, manipulating data, or defining enhancements Support often involves close collaboration with the system's developers and/or with colleagues specialising in different areas, such as Database administration or Network support.
The operation and control of the IT infrastructure (typically hardware, software, data stored on various media, and all equipment within wide and local area networks) required to deliver and support IT services and products to meet the needs of a business. Includes preparation for new or changed services, operation of the change process, the maintenance of regulatory, legal and professional standards, and the monitoring of performance of systems and services in relation to their contribution to business performance, their security and their sustainability.
The resolution (both reactive and proactive) of problems throughout the information system lifecycle, including classification, prioritisation and initiation of action, documentation of root causes and implementation of remedies to prevent future incidents.Tasks Overview
Identifies and resolves issues with applications, following agreed procedures. Uses application management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics. Carries out agreed applications maintenance tasks.
Carries out agreed operational procedures, including network configuration, installation and maintenance. Uses network management tools to collect and report on network load and performance statistics. Contributes to the implementation of maintenance and installation work. Uses standard procedures and tools to carry out defined system backups, restoring data where necessary. Identifies operational problems and contributes to their resolution.
