We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our best in class Technology teams in Shannon, we are looking for someone who has a proven track record of solving operational, scale and reliability problems. An engineer with a passion for quality, automation and experience of cloud infrastructure, software engineering, innovative problem solving, quality-first coding and DevOps/SRE practices.

You will form part of a collaborative, iterative and agile process in a multi-disciplined team helping deliver first class digital solutions. This role provides a unique opportunity to help support and grow the software engineering and DevOps capability within Jaguar Land Rover.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You will work as part of a Global Site Reliability Engineering squad to ensure applications are effectively supported and monitored and that manual work is minimised. Furthermore, you will review deployment and operational environments, troubleshoot issues and managing technical operations whilst working with product teams to ensure systems are secure, scalable and reliable.
Within this role you would have a chance to :
* Develop and maintain platform infrastructure, platform security and security practices
* Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines
* Drive initiatives to automate processes and reduce toil
* Velocity, the amount of work (a number of features) completed within a sprint
* Work on quality, the quality of the software and/or service
* Share knowledge , sharing what you know with other developers or with the broader team
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Previous experience in a similar DevOps role,
Proficient with one or more scripting languages: Bash, Terraform, Serverless, Helm, etc
Good knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes or Linux Contrainers
Experience of at least one major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, Azure)
Excellent knowledge of version control and source control management (Git, Bitbucket, etc.)
Experience creating, maintaining build infrastructure and supporting automated build pipelines. Experience in deploying, managing and maintaining at least 2 of the following SCM toolchain such as Jenkins, Artifactory, Git CI/CD, TravisCI,
Experience in some of the following programming languages: C, C++,Python
Knowledge of the software development process and industry standards/best practices
Experience of safeguarding the entire DevOps environment through strategies, policies, processes, and technology
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Collaborative skills - being open to pair programming and working closely with engineers in cross functional teams
Experience with build management tools such as ANT, Gradle, Conan
System monitoring and alerting (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana or Similar)
Experience with message queues (Kafka, NATS, HiveMQ or RabbitMQ)
Experience with virtualisation such as VMWare etc.
Experience working with Agile methodologies
Experience with database technologies such as MySQL or NoSQL technologies (e.g. MongoDB)
Experience with configuration management tools such as ansible
