Grafton Recruitment are looking to recruit an IT Specialist to join a worldwide leader in the design and manufacturing of advanced analytical, test and measurement instrumentation for the energy, aerospace, power, research, medical and industrial markets.

As part of their long-term commitment to quality and continued growth, they are looking to recruit an additional IT Specialist who will focus on supporting UK based users.

THE ROLE:

As an IT Specialist, you will be required to:

Duties include:

Windows Server environment management and support - consisting of 24 servers (mixture of virtual and physical).

VMware environment support and monitoring - consisting of 21 virtual systems.

Internal LAN support, monitoring and maintenance - consisting of HP\Aruba edge switches and a Cisco core switch environment.

Support and monitoring of a Veeam Backup Solution.

Support and maintenance of a Mitel on-premise telephone system.

On-premise Active Directory administration.

Support of approximately 150 UK based users - office and home based.

Support of approximately 250 UK based computers.

Support and maintenance of approximately 30 on-site Multifunction Printer devices (MFPs).

Support and management of a mobile device fleet - approximately 60 devices.

Support of software including O365, SolidWorks and Corporate security tools.

Ensuring all IT equipment onsite is protected and in compliance with corporate requirements.

Ensuring Corporate IT Polices, Procedures and Financial SOX requirements are maintained and complied with.

Responsibilities:

Lead IT infrastructure projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems within designated timeframes.

Ensure security and integrity of data and network access.

Identify problematic systems and areas within the business and implement strategic solutions to bring systems into compliance.

Monitor performance of IT systems and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure and architecture to increase performance while limiting downtime.

Help define internal IT processes and procedures to streamline internal workflows.

Analyze business IT infrastructure requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs.

THE CANDIDATE:

The ideal IT Specialist:

A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

3-5 years of experience working in IT operations.

Experience of successfully leading and/or managing IT infrastructure projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies.

Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems

Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills

Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize.

Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices.

Excellent customer service skills.BENEFITS:
