PLC Software Engineer

Loanhead, Midlothian (On-Site)

£35,000 to £48,000 + Flexible Working + Union Negotiated Pay Rise + 33 days holiday

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established business acting as a long-term supplier for the British Navy as well as civil organisations, with flexible opportunities for progression within the team.

This company is part of a proud and competitive multinational group who develop resilient engineering products for important military and naval processes.

In this role you will develop PLC software for control panels from start to finish, alongside writing good, clear technical documentation and software testing.

The ideal candidate will have good professional experience with the full PLC software development life-cycle, ideally with Siemens or Beckhoff PLCs, and good software test experience to boot.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a long-running supplier with a big impact on the military and the opportunity to help flesh out a dedicated software development team down the line.

The Role:

Developing PLC software to business requirements.

Testing and maintaining software after deployment.

Full life-cycle development from concept to end product.

The Person:

(Essential) Experience of programming PLCS [2-3 year +]

(Essential) British citizen able to pass a security clearance check

(Desirable) Experience with Siemens or Beckhoff PLCs.

Can commute to site in Loanhead.
