Service Desk – 1st Line Support Engineer Apprentice

(Shift patterns on a rota over 18) 07:00 am – 3:00 pm, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, 9:00 am – 5 :00 pm, 4:00 pm – 12:00 pm)

Work From Home on Late Shifts and Weekends.

Under 18 shift Pattern 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Full time 37.5 Hours per Week

The Role

This role is to provide first level IT support and IT administration duties to all end users seeking IT assistance. The role will include dealing with Basic IT support requests such as password resets, creating user accounts, amending file permissions and basic configuration tasks on our key operational systems, in addition may also support the Desktop Services team in provisioning Mobile devices and Laptop imaging.

Duties & Responsibilities

Including, but not limited to:

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The Level 3 Information Communication Technician programme is designed to provide the knowledge and skills to develop, implement and maintain complete IT solutions and communication.

This programme provides the underpinning knowledge across the 3 pathways - the learner journeys are the same until month 9:

Key areas covered are:

Support Technician - Maintenance or repair of systems faults - Support for the roll-out of installation and commission of new systems or upgrades

Network Technician - Installation and commission of networks - Maintenance or repair of network equipment - Installation, configuration or maintenance task on either ICT related hardware or software

Digital Communications Technician - Installation and commission of telecoms networks - Maintenance or repair of telecoms network equipment - Installation, configuration or maintenance task on either ICT related hardware or software

Modules:

•             CompTIA A+

•             CompTIA Cloud Essentials+

•             BCS Level 4 Award in Business Processes

•             Apprenticeship standard BCS in Information Communications Technician
