We are looking for a Portfolio Planning-Release Train Engineer to join our Digital Technology team based in our Nottingham Office. Hybrid working available, with a salary available of £60,725 to £76,634.

Here's what you'll be doing
This is an exciting brand-new role that has become available for the right candidate. You’ll be the first person into this position and will be able to shape the role from the ground up. The role holder will be responsible for overseeing the prioritisation and delivery of our UK Solutions change portfolio as we transition into a DevOps delivery model.
Main Responsibilities: * Manage our portfolio roadmaps including the tracking of lifecycle stages, inter-dependencies, milestones and budget, across a consolidated UK Solutions change plan.
* Design and continually improve the processes and rituals involved in leading an agile portfolio of change across multiple DevOps delivery teams.
* Facilitate capacity across a peer-group of Product Managers and Product Owners to align towards a common strategic roadmap and prioritisation of change planning – driving towards value.
* Run the agile release train ceremonies (PI Planning, Scrum-of-Scrums, Sprint Demos, Inspect and Adapt) and work with the DevOps delivery teams and their scrum/Kanban meetings to ensure an optimised end-to-end agile delivery of value.
* Regular reporting to executive level stakeholders with an overview of progress against core metrics (budget, value, objectives, KPI’s etc.)
* Facilitate team productivity by removing impediments through the management of risks and dependencies
* Coach team members and other stakeholders in SAFe and Agile practices, as needed.
* Leading the adoption of an agile portfolio framework (e.g. SAFe)
What we need from you
Essential: * Agile Certification, preferably in a large organisation (e.g. SAFe)
* Demonstratable experience as a release train engineer
* Excellent interpersonal skills with experience of aligning stakeholders against a common direction and priority
* Strong financial background, with experience of working closely with finance teams and how to adapt financial models in a DevOps environment
* Proactivity – to enable effective risk and action management
* Responsiveness – Ability to react quickly to requests from stakeholders and emerging issues
Desirable: * A Background in traditional portfolio/programme/project delivery would be beneficial as we will be liaising into parts of the organisation that still operate this way.
* Experience of Jira
* Clear experience of developing strategy and understanding the impact of implementation within the commercial environment
* Ability to lead, influence and engage effectively with a wide range of people; specifically to persuade and influence senior stakeholders and inspire and motivate convincingly across business and functional areas
