An experienced Network Engineer is needed to join our team at Central Bedfordshire Council based in Shefford.
This is a hybrid role. You will be working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location on a monthly basis and as needed to carry out your role.
This six-month contract will need you to deliver support for telephony and network services from day one.
This is an exciting and wide-ranging opportunity to shape the network around the Council’s transformation agenda. The team currently delivers a Vodafone-hosted converged voice telephony solution and is moving to an internally managed Microsoft Teams-based telephony for all council staff.

About the Role
Through the continued growth in Central Bedfordshire’s digital footprint, we have a great opportunity for a highly experienced telephony / network specialist within the Council’s IT team.
We provide secure corporate networks and public internet wifi solutions across the Council campus, core and small sites. You will maintain these solutions while developing your knowledge through designing and implementing new telephony and network services.
You will have current experience working in a high-pressure IT department in a telecoms / network role and preferably hold one or more of Microsoft Teams, Cisco, Brocade or F5 certifications. As a confident and clear communicator, you are keen to work with stakeholders across the council. You will demonstrate the delivery of wide-ranging network and telecom solutions.
