The Role in a Nutshell
An experienced DV cleared Network Support Engineer that can secure and troubleshoot networks, responsible for the day-to-day secure configuration of all managed operating systems and services within the defined environment.

About this Role
The role holder will be responsible for the management of the ongoing secure configuration within the environment and coordinating all tasks. As well as controlling all direct physical access and ensuring that any work carried out is authorised according to the change process.
Responsible for reporting all security incidents in line with the incident management processes. You will manage all changes in line with ITIL4 which will benefit any changes that subsequently, go into the live environment.
Skills & Experience Required
Knowledge of a Windows environment and its applications
Experience with Solarwinds, Cisco ISE and all CUCM components
A great understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices
Experience ensuring network infrastructure is secure, stable and uninterrupted for business
Analyse system logs, adapt to new technologies and perform routine audits
Understanding of how different networks fit together and how they affect each other
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all elements of the business
Clearance - Current Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
You'll have the following Responsibilities
Access Control - working with security to ensure cleared personnel-only access to this area
Managing equipment in and out of the reference area
You will be responsible for the day-to-day secure configuration of all managed operating systems and services.
Ensure a list is maintained of all items of hardware utilised on the service within your area of responsibility:
LAN Switches, Infrastructure and cabling
Servers including screens, keyboards, mice and switch boxes
Workstations including screens, keyboards, mice and switch boxes
Responsible for ensuring all hardware, operating systems and application software configurations are maintained in accordance with the technical design for the service and the manufactures instructions so as to minimise potential vulnerabilities
Offer technical support to your administrators and designers alike
Monitor and maintain networks
Coach staff through a series of actions to help set up systems or resolve issues
Troubleshoot systems and network problems
