Job Details
Job Title: Validation and Internal Audit Officer (PC Lab)
Reporting to: PC Lab Technical Quality Lead Department/Division: Operations
Job Summary:
Populating Ground Tool Data on reference devices and conducting tool and method validation
Assistance with competency testing
Internal auditing
Main Duties & Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned
Creation/population of reference devices and data sets
Conduct examination of reference devices/data sets using existing forensic tools
Conduct Hardware validation
Document findings and feedback to Validation Officers for wider Lab/report communications
Assist with the review of non-conformances
Conduct Internal audits
Maintain a central repository of tool performance and respond to analyst-raised tool issues
Escalate issues and findings to existing validation officers for progression through the QMS in line with ISO17025 and FSR Codes

Essential
Interest in digital forensics analysis of PCs
Desire to perform validation testing
Technical awareness of computer technology (devices, applications, forensic processes)

Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word and Excel

* Understanding of PC device storage structures, security features and anticipated tool performance
* An understanding of current ISO17025 Standard and Forensic Regulator’s requirements
Education:
Degree level qualification (2:2 or above) BSc in an IT related field; Computer Science or Digital Forensics degrees are desirable
Or
HND/HNC & 1 -> 3 years’ experience in digital forensics

Other Role Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years UK residency
* Full driving licence
* Satisfactorily pass pre-hire and annual security clearance procedures in accordance with the ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) National Vetting Scheme.
