IT Manager required to join my client in Livingston to take overall responsibility for the maintenance and delivery of their applications and MIS team, working for a very well-known manufacturing business (and truly global name).

The Company:

Being involved with large-scale projects from day one, you will be joining a global organisation and who have a very noticeable name in the industry. They are a heavy manufacturing organisation and are definitely looking for someone from that background.

The organisation have recently gone through a re-structure and they are building out a new ITSM and help desk, of which you will play a big part. You will join and help to manage a wider team of 10-12 individuals, from helpdesk to network support to application support. The role is based in Livingston and they are keen for someone to be onsite 5 days a week initially. This should relax as the role develops.

The Role:

This is very much a management role, looking after the wider team and helping to develop careers. You will provide leadership in a complex global environment with varied responsibilities that present both technical and operational challenges. As mentioned previously, having a deep understanding of a Manufacturing environment will be extremely beneficial in this role, due to the environment. The role isn't overly technical, as your team will have plenty of technical ability. Having an understanding however on overall business applications will be beneficial, and the impact these have on the wider business.

On top of this, having an understanding of a manufacturing ERP system would be very beneficial. The client use Infor, however anything from IFS, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics etc would suffice. The responsibility for looking after the applications will fall to someone else (from a technical perspective), so your knowledge can very much be from a higher level. Strong stakeholder management skills are essential as you will be advising the global community on performance and changes to the applications environment.

Key Skills and Experience:

** Manufacturing background required

** Provide leadership, vision and direction for the applications in the organisation to ensure it will contribute to the company achieving its goals

** People management of a team of 10 to 12 individuals -0 help to develop career path and goals

** Work with IT and business leaders to develop overall applications roadmap in the context of the business strategy

** Day-to-day management of the overall IT and application support team on a global scale

** ERP knowledge - Infor, IFS, JDE, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle EBS, etc

** Help to further establish and grow the IT Applications team

** Ability to develop the annual departmental budgets for overheads, capital expenses and manpower

** Ability to develop the roadmap and strategy

This is a very pivotal role where you will have a lot of opportunity to make your mark within a busy global environment. They are looking for an enthusiastic individual, who is keen to get involved in a lot of large-scale change, who can define an Applications Roadmap and buy in to the change.
