Cyber Vulnerability Team Coordinator
The purpose of the CVT is to develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Royal Navy's cyber terrain and cyber risk. The team will be responsible for asset visibility management, the research and gathering of Royal Navy IT and OT system information and updating and maintaining the cyber vulnerability and risk database. You will be supporting the Cyber Vulnerability Team to influence and support on the below:
Cyber Risk Management
Incident management, response and recovery
Decision making in the cyber domain i.e. defensive cyber operations, future investment
Prioritisation of vulnerabilities and patch management
The co-ordination and tracking of remediation for known vulnerabilities
Managing legacy software and hardware
This is a Junior/Graduate level post and is inside of IR35.
Outputs
The primary outputs of the CVT are:
Asset Discovery & Visibility Management. Create and maintain a comprehensive inventory of the IT and OT systems and assets in use across all RN deployable platforms and establishments.
Information Gathering. Create and maintain an up to date library of system information to include documents such as RMADS, SOPs and other technical documentation.
Vulnerability Management. Create and maintain a database of technical vulnerabilities known to affect RN Systems and infrastructure.
Vulnerability and Risk Prioritisation. Produce weekly/monthly reports to inform the NC CDIO Information Management Board, NC Cyber Risk Team and the Defence Digital Asset Visibility Working Group on the current cyber risk to RN systems, infrastructure and data.
Vulnerability Remediation. Co-ordinate the tracking of remediation actions resulting from Cyber Assurance Assessments and Technical Vulnerability Assessments.
Shift Pattern
Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm
Person Specification
To be considered for this role you will have the following:
Essential Skills
An appreciation of cyber security practices, general cyber security qualifications or a keen interest in getting into cyber along with a solid IT background
Excellent communication skills
Must be happy working independently and have an enquiring nature
Eligible for a security clearance
Previous MOD, Government or maritime background advantageous but not essential
Role specifics
Start date - ASAP
End date - April 23 after which the contract will be competed for a 1-2-year period.
Rate - dependent on experience and interview
Base Location - MCSU, Portsdown Technology Park, Portsmouth
