IT Team Lead
Cambridge
Up to £40,(Apply online only) | 25 Days Holiday | Flexible Hours | Paid Study Leave
You’ve been working as a second/third line support engineer, and you’re looking to step up. Or you’re already in an IT team lead position and want to progress.
Here’s your chance! And before you read on, bear this in mind: These guys have been listed in the Top 100 Companies To Work For for five years running!
The IT department at this leading healthcare operation currently consists of five. You’ll be number six. They are based in Cambridge, with excellent transport links.
They are a business of the very best people. And they need another to run their IT function. They’ve invested heavily in the IT infrastructure and created an environment that’s unlike other more traditional IT departments. They need an ambitious individual to bridge the gap between their three administrators and the head of technology, manage the IT roadmap, streamline all their processes and line manage the team.
Sound interesting? Read on.
What’s even better here is that they outsource the majority of their IT. This means you’ll get involved with just the fun bits of IT. This involves various projects and improvements. Alongside this, you’ll have the chance to upskill – and upskill lots. You’ll gain experience with cloud technologies and get the chance to implement new tech strategies of your own. And you want variety? Throw IT security, info governance and infrastructure into the mix – and you have the chance to really shape your career the way you want.
So, what do you need to be considered? Personality first – after all, it’s a compact team. Second, you’ll have experience in an IT department – which goes without saying – but ideally with at least one years’ experience line managing a team. And whilst you don’t need to be technically hands-on for this role, a good understanding of Azure AD, Office, and other Microsoft technologies is a big bonus.
One last thing – your personality is more important than your exam results. If you have hands-on experience, and get a lot of pride in helping others, this is all that matters.
