Are you an experienced Systems Developer?
I have an exciting new position for a Systems Developer to work as part of a reputable higher education facility. You will be responsible for providing hands-on technical expertise to develop and implement system solutions and integration's, including identification, validation, analysis of requirements, development and verification of solutions, delivery, and testing.
The Systems Developer will contribute to the data management and migration aspects of projects, including providing technical expertise, assurance, and oversight of the analysis, extraction, cleansing, transformation, load and reconciliation. Starting ASAP, paying up to £39,745 per annum.
Role Responsibilities:
To perform analysis and design tasks to define user requirements for proposed or enhanced information systems a basis for their development and release into operations.
Undertake information gathering and requirements analysis to produce interface solution designs, develop and implement solutions and ensure that unit tests are developed and maintained.
Develop interfaces for the transfer of data between systems; define routines, processes, mechanisms and protocols for the transfer of data between systems and manage the migration of data to designated environments.
To manage the technical delivery of approved small projects (e.g. information system enhancements) ensuring that the agreed objectives are delivered within the original project scope.
To carry out programming, configuration and development tasks ensuring that feasibility has been assessed and established; relevant documentation is maintained; test scripts are prepared, testing is successfully completed; and that information systems components are released into operations in accordance with DTS policies and standards.
To assess and recommend appropriate solutions to fulfil business requirements with current or new applications that will ensure the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity and availability.
To carry out data transformation (extract, transform and load) tasks and to provide reports as required by undertaking the appropriate analysis in response to business requirements.
Adhere to prescribed architectural principles, development methodologies, coding and data management standards, source control practices, data protection and security practices and contribute to the ongoing development of such standards and practices.
Provide third-line support when a more detailed understanding of internal systems, data and interfaces is required and carry out problem solving and configuration tasks to ensure the restoration of critical services.
To provide technical advice, expertise and assistance to other teams and projects about the development and integration of information systems as directed by the Information Systems Architect.
To develop and maintain documentation about the specification, design and build of information systems and interfaces according to DTS policies and standards
