The role

The role of ICT Infrastructure Engineer is to maintain and support the VolkerWessels UK on-premise infrastructure and to assist in the development and migration to our cloud infrastructure.

Our Infrastructure Engineers are where the buck stops, so a high degree of knowledge and experience is essential across all areas of technology.

Key accountabilities

Support the network infrastructure to ensure maximum availability.

Supporting and maintaining our Microsoft Azure environment.

Server hardware and software configuration, administration, installation and maintenance

General maintenance and troubleshooting of WAN, LAN, communication equipment, Firewall's, servers, software, licensing, phone systems, SIP lines, SAN's, Backup systems, EDR etc

Automating processes across the business where possible with the use of tools and scripts

Ensure relevant documentation is created in a timely manner

Ensure a high level of communication between all ICT functions, and support\assistance is provided to all users

Provide training and knowledge sharing amongst colleagues

Ensuring consistent delivery of good customer service

Assist Infrastructure Architect's where necessary

Handle and resolve any support requests for 3rdline where necessary - this can include holiday cover, peak time coverage and ad-hoc requests.

Manage projects end to end where required.

Complete service transition for any projects that are promoted to live ensuring the relevant support units have adequate documentation and handover.
