Day to Day Activity

You will work as part of a wider Infrastructure and Data Services team providing the fabric on which industry leading IT solutions are built

You will provide technical leadership and guidance for the Platforms team and Platforms Team Lead

You will be actively involved in the technical design and roadmap activities of the infrastructure team

You will build relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers

Identify areas where standards can be developed and processes improved, and work with the team to implement those improvements

Take ownership of service requests, incidents and problems within the Platforms team, along with the planning and implementation of changes, following the relevant IT Service Management processesExperience

Experience of Linux and Windows platforms

Experience of public cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure, and cost optimisation techniques

Experience of virtualization technologies (ideally VMware/VxRail)

Experience with Storage Arrays (ideally Dell Compellent and HPE Nimble)

Experience with Patch Management Software (ideally Ivanti or SCCM)

Experience with Backup concepts and Software

Experience of Dell and HP Server Hardware

Experience of shell and PowerShell scripting

Endpoint Protection and Anti-Virus management

Ability to work as part of a team and provide technical guidance to junior members of the team

Able to work under pressure and focus on resolving business critical issues,

Experience of a commercial Incident, Problem and Change management tool.

Experience of working in an ITIL environment, ideally possesses an ITIL Foundation qualification.
