Role: Lead Migration Architect

Location: Remote + visit to Manchester fortnightly

Rate: £600 - £640

Concept have partnered up with a technology consultancy to deliver a long-term important project with a government department and to build a team to deliver an On-prem to Cloud Migration.

Lead Migration Architect Overview:

The Lead Migration Architect will be responsible for leading and governing the delivery of all ITT requirements and designs associated with the VME-R and CMG suite. This includes all platform designs (HLD level only) and Application Treatment Packs (Application migration documents / designs).

Lead Migration Architect Roles & Responsibilities:

They will be capable of writing and contributing to designs whilst providing technical leadership and quality assurance for the entire programme, understanding current state architecture, treatment plan, and future state architecture for each application within the VME-R Suite (these will make up the ATPs).

They will be responsible for ensuring the ATPs are technically sound and signed off by internal governance board (DDA) before they are finalised for the procurement process.

The lead architect will also be overseeing the entire migration team, ensuring that all resources are delivering to a common goal. There will also be a requirement to join customer forums and be part of / support the entire procurement process. As the migration. Once procurement is awarded, the lead architect will assume a governance role for VME-R, working with build partners to ensure the build is executed as per the designs.

There may be a requirement to extend beyond the VME-R platform as this process continues, building out a larger team to support a much wider objective of migrating the remaining applications out of On-Premise Hosting. This could be an amazing opportunity to transform the entire business. Lead Migration Architect musts/desirables: ​

Strong solutions design experience and be able to write and contribute to solutions designs.​

Experience of migrating applications and data to cloud platforms including AWS​

Experience of working with Line of Business applications with sensitive data​

Knowledge of Oracle RAC, Posrgresand oracle virtualisation technologies (OVM or OLVM)​

Experience of understanding, defining, and mapping complex integration services​

Experience with large programmes preferably within public sector

Experience of on-premise data centre hosting models

Demonstrable experience of leading technology team's

Commercial awareness, strong communicator and the ability to work with senior stakeholder and support bid/procurement activities ​
