Sopra Steria are currently recruiting for an exciting role within the Government and Transport sector for an Engineer who has demonstrable experience working in Cloud Infrastructure and Network Engineering. This is a hybrid role where no two days will be the same and offers the opportunity to be involved with the technical design, implementation, and support of cloud infrastructures as well as Network Support and Security Management. We are looking for experience in industry standard Cloud and Network Engineering technologies, the team is also currently on the hunt for more general Linux knowledge so any experience in this area will be a big positive! You will have lots of opportunity for personal and professional development within this role and huge scope for progression within the team and wider sector. This is a senior role so applicants should be confident in their technical abilities and happy to mentor and help train more junior team members.
The Cloud Infrastructure and Network Engineer role is hybrid variable, most of your time will be spent from home so the role can align to any of our offices (London, Hemel Hempstead, Manchester or Edinburgh).
What you'll be doing:
Evaluate hardware and software (within server, network, storage or desktop environments) to ensure that the integration and test of new products (both hardware and software) for incorporation into program infrastructure
Technical design, implementation and support of Cloud Infrastructure
Administration and enhancement of the environment and its supportability, for example: administration of user accounts, control the network access integrity, manage the data, in terms of space allocated to data, access authorizations, SAN, optimization as well as network configurations including LAN, WAN, firewalls, routing and activities to size networks appropriately.
Provide second line support to ensure right support.
What you'll bring:
Experience working with public cloud platforms - AWS/Azure
Experience working on complex infrastructures at an enterprise scale e.g. advanced infrastructure skills covering administration, fault finding/diagnosis and fix, File/Print clusters etc.
Expert Networking skills and experience of working in an enterprise environment and exposure to Palo Alto technologies (PAN), F5, Routing and Load balancing
Experience working in Linux Systems Administration and Infrastructures
