Technical Analyst -  Server, Database and/or Application/Web Server Upgrades or Replacements - Financial Services

My leading banking client is seeking an experienced Technical Analyst to join their Infrastructure and Service Operations department where you will provide leadership and coordination of staff and services within the IT Lifecycle (Obsolescence) Management team.

This role is part of the IT Risk Portfolio team which is under the Director of Operational Services. As the main hub of information regarding the resilience of our IT infrastructure, the team monitor the health of the Bank’s applications at a micro and macro level to ensure the degree of obsolescence is maintained within the Banks risk tolerance appetite and appropriate remedial actions are taken to maintain this position.

The Role:

As one of the senior Technical Analysts within this team, you will be working closely with the IT Lead on driving through the full lifecycle of one or more projects that have a core remediation of obsolescence risk objective. You will be responsible for:

Identifying and determining the obsolescence risk and remediation requirement using data analytics using discovery workshop to determine the compatibility & dependencies, remediation strategy

Developing asset level migration plans along with CIO & Infrastructure delivery team including interlocking the scope of testing with the application team or other stake holder team

Hand over the remediation execution to the delivery team and manage the project through full life-cycle with associated appropriate reporting, budget management and stakeholder management

Ensure risks and issues associated with delivery are identified and communicated appropriately to reduce the risk of delayed delivery or extra budget requests.

Candidates must have the following skills / experience:

Technical Skills and experience in either Operating systems, or database or Application server technology upgrade project

Experience in Application to infrastructure discovery and determining the application compatibility with upgraded version of Infrastructure components like OS, DB, Web and Application server

Strong project management and analytical mindset that will be able to drive both the IT Risk Portfolio team and the broader Product team(s) to ensure focus on the obsolescence remediation project.

Ability to rapidly build relationships and influence a broad spectrum of resources from Directors to developers.

Excellent interpersonal, presentation and persuasive skills to drive/challenge stakeholders.

Skills and Experience in executive level report writing.
