Junior Web Developer

Location: Bideford, North Devon (Hybrid or Remote working)

Salary: £24k - £30k + Dependent on experience and ability. Annual bonus based on company performance + Pension + Excellent Benefits

Location: Work from Bideford office semi-regularly, they are open to remote-working applicants with the right skills and experience.

The Role:

Our client are looking for a talented and experienced junior developer to join the team for their respected, friendly and creative marketing agency. They are a small but dedicated team who go out of their way to please clients, get results and produce high-quality, good-looking campaigns and they would like the new developer to share their passion and enthusiasm for perfection.

The role will likely frequently involve the development of front-end web builds from .XD, .AI or .PSD files and the accurate handling of images files and other assets.

Skills & Experience:

You’ll mostly be working in HTML, PHP, CSS and JS building front-end websites and web pages or amending or improving existing web applications. 

Experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud - Photoshop, XD and Illustrator - in particular would be very useful as the company rely on the Adobe suite for many of their web projects.

An understanding or appreciation of modern web design and trends.

While proven ability in basic web languages are essential for this role, competency in JavaScript or Liquid are advantageous but not essential.

It is important to the company - and their clients - that the web projects are Search Engine Optimised from the start

A good understanding of SEO best practices is important, but a developer who keeps abreast of the latest changes and recommendations is even better.

Responsibilities:

You’ll be relied upon to help members of the team and the clients with technical issues, as well as being the first point of contact for most things code-based.

You will work closely with the whole team to realise a huge variety of web projects to a very high standard.

They're looking for someone who can build the designs for the client's web designers, meet the briefs from the project managers and satisfy or exceed the business objectives from the clients.

You’ll be directly involved in a huge number and variety of projects and contribute to many varied solutions across multiple platforms, frameworks and CMS including Wordpress, Shopify and MailChimp among others.

Representative of the designs and prototypes you’ll be provided with. There may also be occasions when some creative decisions need to be made by you and a good eye for design and brand consistency would be desirable; along with an understanding or appreciation of modern web design and trends.

Desirable Skills:

While proven ability in basic web languages are essential for this role, competency in JavaScript or Liquid are advantageous but not essential.

Experience in email design and development would be an advantage.

A driving license would be an advantage, but not essential.
