We are looking for a talented IT Support Engineer to join our team who are developing next generation X-Ray technology. Working across a dynamic business, you will provide first and second line IT support to the team and support the Business Systems Manager to ensure compliance with IT best practices, including ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing biomedical start-up (currently 70 people) whose technology will improve patient outcomes by enabling early and accurate diagnosis through 3D Xray technology.
IT Support Engineer
Salary: up to £33,000 (DoE) + Company Benefits including 25 days holiday
Location: Based in Oxford or Edinburgh (with some occasional travel between sites)
Key Responsibilities
Main duties and responsibilities:
Provide first and second line IT support for the organisation, this includes on-site, over the phone, via email and remote log-in
Maintaining inventory of hardware, software, licenses, with version control.
Provide central point for software installs, new hardware purchases, configuration, onboarding and helpdesk.
Ensure backups/restores are in place and inactive/defunct accounts are reviewed and managed.
First point of contact for IT issues, resolving queries from colleagues and partners via email, phone, JIRA and in person.
Set up of IT equipment and software, including laptops, mobiles and tablets
Liaising with internal stakeholders to ascertain employee IT requirements.
Working alongside team members in a ‘hands-on’ fashion in order to ensure business success which may include tasks like troubleshooting, analysing requirements, creating training documentation and end user training.
Working with the Business Systems Manager to implement cybersecurity measures including:
Implementing secure, standardised and consolidated logins, with 2-stage verification / multi-factor authorisation where appropriate.
Ensuring strong password management is setup and mandated for all internal systems, and products in the field.
Assisting with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essential compliance. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Supporting a MS Windows environment, e.g. Windows 10/11, Office 365, Teams, OneDrive
Working with a MS 365 environment, e.g. SharePoint Online, Exchange Online
Working with Intune, Azure AD (desirable)
Working with JIRA (desirable)
Networking – LAN / WAN / firewalls (desirable)
Working within a regulated environment, e.g. Cyber Essentials, ISO27001 (desirable)
