Business Project Manager (Not IT Project Manager)

£55,000 - £65,000 plus excellent package (Car allowance, bonus, PMI, 30 days holiday etc.)

12 Month Fixed term contract

Leading FS company in the car finance sector are currently working on a project to expand their Contract Hire and Leasing offering and is looking for a Business Change Project Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract to join the team working on the transitions of activities from a partner and the Finance aspects of the workstream. The successful candidate must come from a Business Change background, this is not an IT role.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager this is an exciting and innovative project essentially building a brand new operation.

Please note that whilst this is a hybrid role at least 2 days a week are required in the Redhill office and according to project needs on an ad hoc and flexible basis.

Responsibilities will include

Leading development of the project plans through sourcing and analysis of information from relevant teams and stakeholders, ensuring the project scope and impact is clear and agreed by the Sponsor before initiation and changes to scope are tracked throughout delivery

Leading the project reporting processes, setting a clear framework and allocating tasks to the project team and acting as an escalation point for the project team around reporting if required, engaging with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure the necessary data is received.

Owning specific project budgets as agreed in the Business Case, allocating costs and monitoring utilisation

Responsible for maintaining a forward view of spend against budget, and flagging potential over or under spends to project governance early for discussion and decision on recommendation actions to address

Accountable for establishing and managing the end-to-end project delivery approach, in line with internal methodologies including the CTO Gated Governance and T&O Design Assurance & Project Implementation Management (PIM)

Responsible for delivering projects / programmes subject to the mid-range level of governance within the organisation, as a result of their cost/ impact (typically £1-5M budgets)

Ensure robust application of risk & issue management and standards, embedding this practice in the day-to-day delivery of the project

Own the creation and delivery of a project communication plan with defined comms objectives and key messages agreed with the Sponsor, identifying and mapping stakeholders and ensure their information needs are met with the comms plan

Build strong relationships across the project team and stakeholders in support of effective collaboration and successful delivery of the Business Case

Act as comms lead for the project / programme, able to clearly articulate the project objectives and status to stakeholders in written and verbal formats as required

This role would be expected to work in a matrix structure (leading a team of up to 10 FTE), influencing colleagues as required to meet project objectives

Other reasonable ad hoc duties as required

What we're looking for

Previous project management experience having had extensive experience working in a business environment, with Financial Services sector experience desirable but not essential

Understanding of agile and waterfall project management methodologies with examples of structuring and delivering projects within both environments

(APMP/ APM PQ (practitioner qualification) or APM RPP (registered project professional) desirable but not essential, although ability to demonstrate an equivalent level of understanding and evidence of successful management of projects will be accepted as an alternative

Experience working in teams of c.10 resources in a matrix environment essential

Evidence of successful teamwork and ability to influence and engage colleagues is required

Strong verbal communication skills with immediate team and stakeholders across the organisation, including senior management

Able to both create and deliver presentations to a range of audiences

Contribute to the creation and delivery of an effective project communication plan that supports successful delivery of the projects objectives

Able to produce excellent written communications that simplify complex issues into clear and concise messages

Able to influence and facilitate stakeholder alignment on the common goals of the project/ programme
