Job Description

• Configures, maintains, documents, and implements policies for firewalls, router ACL's, and ACI Contracts as required for development projects and customer requests
• Configures and provides technical support for access controls for internal clients and external customers.

• Ensures consistent and reliable firewall performance to protect system integrity
• Troubleshoot/resolve problems, inefficiencies and network performance issues to correct deficiencies
• Monitor and maintain LAN and WAN communication to achieve optimum system performance
• Participates on assigned development projects to define, test, and implement firewall policies and router ACL's supporting business implementations
• Stays current on security and network best practices, emerging technologies and security threats to identify methods for maintaining system security, stability, and reliability

• Assists with limited product evaluations and participates in the preparation of recommendations for acquisition or application including evaluations of new hardware and software to determine cost-effective solutions and/or appropriate applications
• Assists senior personnel in security and network regulatory and internal audits
• Will expand to additional technologies as experience and expertise allows to include Firewall, Load Balancers (ADCs), WAN & LAN, Data Center, etc.
• Under limited supervision, oversee the purchase, installation, and support of security and network communications for customers
• Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation requires evaluation and judgment

• May be responsible for evaluating current network and security systems and posture
• Requires thorough knowledge of TCP/IP Networking, Security, LAN/WAN systems, networks, and application stacks.
• Works with management to define business needs and provide expert knowledge of networking enhancements and innovations
• Develop project plans for the implementation of small to medium LANs and/or WANs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of related experience, with at least 1 year TCP/IP networking experience.
• Experience in delivery environments
• Experience with Linux is required

• Strong knowledge of networking and networking protocols.
• Strong knowledge of security technologies including encryption, stateful firewalls, and access-lists.
• Strong knowledge of leading firewalls, network scanning, and authentication technologies.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Works under minimal supervision. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.

• Demonstrated experience in the following areas:

• Network Infrastructure (routers, switches, TCP/IP)
• Firewalls (firewall policy, analysis)
• Information Security (compliance with technical security standards, governance)
• ADCs (Load Balancers)

• Cisco ACI

• Available to work normal business hours and after hours as needed
• Available to provide on-call support
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Principles and practices of customer service

• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
• Excellent attention to detail
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships

Not Required but experience helpful

• Experience with enterprise networks
• Experience building and configuring security or network infrastructure
• Fluent in spoken and written Portuguese
