About the role

Being a fast-growing company, we're looking for a UI/UX Designer to take charge and help shape the future of our Mondly Kids app. Mondly Kids is the perfect tool for parents who want to introduce their kids to a new language in a fun and interactive way. The app is designed specifically for kids, with a user-friendly interface and colourful graphics. Is a family-friendly app for the new generation of language learners.

In your role, you will be responsible for delivering the best user experience, which makes your role extremely important for our success and ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop intuitive, usable, and engaging interactions that our young learners will love;
  • Analyze how new features tie in with market needs and consumer preferences;
  • Set design requirements based on briefs from internal teams;
  • Lead conceptual design tasks and product discovery on new features and products;
  • Define the gestures and interactions of the next generation of learning;
  • Demonstrate ability to lead user research;
  • Craft pixel-perfect designs and prototypes following the latest guidelines in the industry;
  • Test functionality for prototypes;
  • Modify and revise existing designs to meet changing customer preferences;
  • Work from a company-wide design system and craft beautiful product experiences;
  • Build a strong connection with the user base and understand what the needs are;
  • Understand behavioural patterns and how to use market data to inform the design conclusions;
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering and analytics during all the design stages;
  • Take part in QA testing and regression post-implementation;
  • Follow the current design trends to identify new product improvement opportunities;
  • Coordinate with other design team members to ensure consistent and accurate communication.

The kind of people we're looking forward to joining our team has:

  • Relevant experience in mobile app design, working with gamification concepts, illustrations and beautiful designs adapted to different age groups;
  • Advanced English, both in written and verbal communication;
  • Excellent skills in colour theory, image composition, and typography;
  • Advanced experience in Sketch or Figma;
  • Good comprehension of UI/UX principles and SCSS/HTML5 and JavaScript concepts;
  • Ability to communicate in a technical manner;
  • Experience with design sprints and first-hand user testing;
  • Attention to detail and ability to create pixel-perfect static and interactive prototypes;
  • Deep understanding of Apple's human interface design and Google's Material Design;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills;
  • Robust decision-making - based on evidence and data;
  • Continually looking to learn and grow as a designer.
