The Global Payments & Receivables business is a key strength and differentiator for Citi and sits within Citi's Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) business. Citi IS widely considered to be the market leader in Global Payments due to its ability to effect payments in over 140 currencies, its in-country presence in 96 countries and its strong regional solution sets.
TTS Global Payments & Receivables Technology is undergoing transformation in Payment processing with ISO 20022 rollout. This role is fundamental in delivering major enhancements within Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and also extends to support APAC, NAM and LATAM regions. This role will be a part of the central ISO 20022 Client Operations project team, which focusses on Operations readiness, Target Operating Model and Operations Contingency planning for ISO 20022.
The successful candidate is expected to have a very good understanding of Payment operations lifecycle from initiation, processing including settlement instructions, screening, investigations, client servicing and reconciliation. The candidate must have good knowledge on the various type of payment flows like customer to bank, bank to bank, FI payments, intermediary bank flows etc. for SWIFT and RTGS Market infrastructures. The candidate must also have good business analysis skills to understand market changes and internal processes.
Successful candidate will be responsible for the ISO Program rollout, process re-engineering, efficiency/automation recommendations, initiative tracking, project management and readiness across various countries planned for ISO20022. The candidate is required to apply problem solving skills, integrate in-depth payments subject matter expertise with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices.
Good stakeholder management and communication skills are preferred as the role will require to engage with a broad set of technology, operations and product stakeholders.
Gather, analyze and document ISO 20022 operations requirements: questioning, challenging and proposing innovative, automated solutions where necessary.
Assess the impact of the proposed solution against the Target Operating Model to ensure no manual or bespoke processes are created.
Act as Operations SME and manage relationships with keys stakeholders like product, technology, operations teams.
Support training activities for the impacted groups.
Look beyond compliance and identify opportunities/improvements on back of ISO 20022.
Comfort in working with global and virtual teams and across various lines of business
Understand the project timelines focusing on delivering milestones
Escalate project risks to the project lead, or project sponsor, when appropriate
Adhere to the change management processes and document changes, User stories and Use Cases for various projects
Prepare change requests and follow through the end-to-end process
Detailed understanding and experience on SWIFT messaging for MT1,2 and 9 series and corresponding ISO20022 messages for Payments, Investigations and Statements process
Knowledge of RTGS Market Infrastructures (e.g. Target2, CHAPS, CHIPS, LYNX etc. ) and SWIFT Cross-border
Detailed understating of customer to bank, bank to bank, FI payments, intermediary bank flows, direct & cover flows etc. for SWIFT and RTGS Market infrastructures
Good communication skills with ability to lead virtual and in-person meetings
Good presentation skills and ability to create process flows with high proficiency in MS-Office
Experience on large scale technical and complex projects
Industry knowledge of payments and its changing landscape
Understanding of Agile methodology and tools like Jira, Confluence
10-15 years of experience in Project Management, business analysis or related payments operations environments
Intellectual curiosity, analytical and conceptual thinker
Ability to work in a complex projects with people across multi-geographies
Proficient with the project life cycle (Waterfall and Agile)
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Clear communicator ability to relay precise information both orally and in writing
Great Team player with good co-ordination and time management skills.
