Job Title: IT Second Line Engineer
Location: Swindon, Wiltshire
Salary: £28,000 - £33,000
Our client is looking for an IT Second Line Engineer to join the IT team. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager as a key IT Service Delivery and Operations Team member, the IT Second Line Engineer will often be the first point of contact for the IT user community for any IT-related issues, problems, incidents, or requests. Our client is building an internal team where individuals are expected to deliver performance, ideas and concepts which deliver service excellence to the User community. are looking for experienced IT Second Line Engineers to join a new dynamic team.
As an internal customer-facing role, the IT Second Line Engineer will deliver professional, polite, and responsive service to the IT user community across the company's sites. Your primary focus will be on delivering excellent IT Support services to the user community. You may also be required to work on specific projects within the Technology Transformation Programme and then share the knowledge and skills you acquire with the rest of the team. Where issues and incidents are complex, and you have been unable to resolve them in a timely manner, you will escalate the issue within the team.
Skills / Knowledge:
Desktop Windows 10 / 11.
Servers - Windows Server 2016+, Linux, Virtual appliances, SQL Server.
Networking - LAN, vLAN, WAN, Fixed lines, Switches, Routers, IP Telephony, Wireless, DR and network backup.
Security - Firewalls, VPN, Azure App Proxy, MFA.
Virtualisation - VMware, SAN, Azure, Remote Desktop.
Cloud Services - Azure, M365, Email, Office and Third Party
Active Directory - Hybrid Azure On Prem
Disk Encryption and Anti-Virus
Licensing
MDM
Monitoring, Patching and Vulnerability Management
You will have the drive to work as part of a high-performing team with a willingness to learn, grow and share knowledge to ensure that the team provides service excellence to the user community.
At times you will be expected to work from or travel to external sites within the Company. When available, a Company Van will be provided, however, your own form of transport, and a valid clean driving licence are essential for this role.
This is not a hybrid role and the requirement will be to work from their head office in Swindon.
