Our client is a UK based software company who provide automated materials handling and warehouse management software solutions for their customers - they're looking for a Senior Software Architect to come and join the team.
The successful candidate will lead a team of approx. 6 Software Colleagues and to take overall technical responsibility for the system design, task planning, functional testing and integration support. Apply software product knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to systems projects, in order to provide a working integrated solution in line with client expectations and the overall project plan.
The office location is based in Kettering, with a hybrid working pattern.
Key Responsibilities
To line manage, lead, support and develop a team of Software Colleagues
Assess the overall design and development time for a project and report this and any variance with the budget to the Project Manager
Formulate overall design and design concepts for software projects
Formulate detailed design specifications from a Functional Definition Specification
Control the integrity of design
Plan and assign tasks for development engineers
Assist Engineers with technical solutions to design requirements
As appropriate, develop source code in high level languages, primarily C++, C & Java
Prepare and maintain burn charts detailing progress on the design and development tasks
Provide early life support for software when installed on a live site
Manage the rectification of project related software faults
Establish productive technical relationships will all levels of suppliers and customers (Internal and external customers)
Hold functional testing and quality reviews
Provide QC reviews for work from other architects & within project
Identify risks & report to Project manager
Follow Company quality procedures
Create timesheets and perform general admin tasks on time
Follow Company Health and Safety procedures and responsibilities as outlined in the Health & Safety PolicyPrincipal working relationships

Relevant Degree is desirable
Relevant experience is essential
C++ knowledge and experience are essential
