IT Infrastructure Engineer, Ferndown, £45,000 Fixed Term Contract

The Purpose

Rubicon's client is looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer to support with upcoming major projects. Joining the IT and Operations department, the IT Infrastructure Engineer will need experience with Hyper-V, Linux, Cisco and FortiGate, with knowledge of CE+ and ISO standards.

The IT Infrastructure Engineer Responsibilities

Take ownership and lead project management.

Resolve issues, keeping the team updated and closing tickets and documenting when required.

Monitoring of system performance and following up on issues with the team.

Maintaining security and resilience of services, resolving blockers and delegating resource.

Setup network objects and rules from ASA firewalls and add them to FortiGate.

Assist with the incremental building of a Hyper-V cluster as systems are hardened and migrated.

Setup backups to AWS or DR data centre.Skills & Experience Required as the IT Infrastructure Engineer

ITIL qualified or a firm understanding.

Experience working in ISO 20001 and 27001

Hyper-V clusters, Cisco and FortiGate

Server installation and maintenance, with application or IT support experience (5 years).

Knowledge of AWS services, and Microsoft 365 products is desirable.

Understanding or experience with SQL/XML/CSV/JSON, and Linux, Jira and Zendesk (desirable).Background & Benefits
