We have an exciting opportunity to join our National Security Unit, at our head office in Romsey. Over three years you will gain a level 6 higher education degree, BSc Hons Digital and Technology Solutions. We are pleased to share that we have partnered with Multiverse for this apprenticeship.

Roke introduced an Early Careers apprenticeship scheme in 2017 to support individual learning and development, whilst simultaneously delivering real business value with an emphasis on providing access to meaningful work under the guidance of an expert mentor network.

WHAT WE DO

Data Science is an exciting and broad domain which plays a crucial role in harnessing the power of data to enable our clients to extract valuable insight from large datasets.

We are experts in system architecture, data processing, and statistical analysis of datasets and our Engineers typically specialise in one or more of the following aspects of Data Science:

Data Analytics: identify and utilise analysis tools and models to extract insight from datasets. Utilising these tools and techniques to source, explore, profile, pipeline, combine, transform and store data.

Data Engineering: curating, handling and modelling datasets for analysis.

Data Visualisation: using the latest UI tools and frameworks to create user-friendly access to data and analytics processes.

Software Engineering: implementation of data solutions, utilising software engineering patterns and architectures to deliver solutions into the cloud

THE ROLE

Roke is looking for the next generation of Data Scientists with a passion for coding and solving technical problems, enabling our clients to become more data driven organisations.

You could be developing data science solutions within one or more of our client side teams around the UK or working on our ground-breaking projects within one of our UK based offices. Hybrid working can be allowed where possible.

Our data science work encompasses all types of data, including structured and unstructured data (such as text and image). We use a variety of software, selecting the best approach to suit the customers’ needs. For example, you might exploit your software expertise to solve big data or data streaming challenges using open source technologies.

Alternatively, you might use your statistical background to develop machine-learned models to classify data. Perhaps, you will specialise in data visualisation techniques in order to enable our customers to easily access the required information from their data.

Regardless, your projects will be diverse – working with varying clients, across a number of sectors, using a range of skills. Consequently, we are looking for individuals able to work flexibly across projects in different domains. You might apply your skills to rapidly prototype new approaches & solutions. Equally, you may apply them to complement or advance existing solutions.

Knowledge or interest in one of the following areas would be beneficial but not essential to the role:

Python coding

Statistical modelling, and/or machine learning

Strong problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and presentation skills

A passion for data analysis

WHAT WE DO

Making, breaking and assuring today’s cyber security systems.

We “make and break” today’s cyber security systems to design and build the next generation of secure, resilient systems.  Our engineers help customers identify, prioritise and mitigate network weaknesses, protect assets, and build a security culture.

We are naturally curious engineers with expertise in operating systems (OS), networking and network protocols, low-level implementation details, reverse engineering, security research and forensics.

THE ROLE

Responsibilities in this role will be to support the development of our Cyber and Networks products and capabilities.

Knowledge or interest in one of the following domains would be beneficial but not essential to the role:

Computer systems, programming and applications

Communications networks and network protocols

Low-level development in C or assembler

Security analysis

Systems security

Reverse engineering
