OVERVIEW

Menzies Distribution Ltd have a rare opportunity for an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team! Our team utilise business analytics, data, tools and infrastructure to develop solutions and aid in improved decision making on behalf of our ever-growing portfolio of clients.

Joining our friendly team, you will work closely with the Head of Business Intelligence who will support you to design, deliver and roll-out BI Solutions; you will be the point of contact for our stakeholders and will be required to gather and analyse requirements, integrate relevant data sources and promise a high level of accuracy in your service. You will play an instrumental part in accelerating efficiency of reporting tools and creating complex data sources to guarantee precise and meaningful insight. 

No two days will be the same! You will support your BI colleagues to implement best working practices and develop solutions which are maintained in an efficient and sustainable way.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Requirements gathering with internal/external customers

Integrate with relevant data sources to ensure end users have the information required to make better decisions

Design, develop and roll out BI Solutions

Ensure high levels of accuracy in all reports

Design functional specifications for BI front-end applications following analysis of user requirements

Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to guarantee interoperability

Design and deliver end-user training

Provide technical support wherever necessary to our internal team and customers

Troubleshoot BI tools, systems and software for performance-tuning purposes

Support the BI team with ad-hoc tasks when required

Engage in development discussions with the BI team and contribute towards the growth of working practices, tools and solutions

WHAT YOU NEED

Experience within a Business Intelligence Team is vital

Working knowledge of Power BI and SQL is essential (either SQL Server or Oracle)

Experience using Azure Data Factory is preferable

Experience working within the logistics sector is preferable

Understanding of reporting tools (Business Objects, Qlik) is desirable

Experience of Python/R is desirable
