The Opportunity
The IT Department handles over 1400 request and incident calls in an average month. The department covers all IT areas from PC’s, networking, servers, ERP systems, telephone systems, Microsoft 365 and day-to-day IT security. The department also provides remote working connectivity for today’s hybrid worker.
Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities
Log and allocate calls using the Help Desk software whenever calls come in through the Help Desk system, by phone, email or in person
Create and close accounts for users, including liaising with HR on the starters and leavers
Take minutes of IT meetings where formal minutes are required
Allocate out loan equipment
Issue computer peripherals, maintain a spares inventory and update asset database
Manage the software database
Administer software and hardware maintenance
Raise Requests To Purchase (RTP’s)
Gather and send monthly IT invoices to Finance
Prepare monthly Help Desk metrics for the Head of IT
Always fully comply with Roke’s policies and procedures
Undertake such other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job holder’s experience and qualifications, as may be required for the smooth operation of the business
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
Any IT or administration qualifications would be useful, or relevant Higher Education qualification.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Previous Help Desk experience
Administration, including minute taking and ordering
Managing software and hardware maintenance records
