We have a brilliant opportunity to join a local provider of independent IT advice and technical support as a 2nd line IT Helpdesk Engineer. On offer is a salary upwards of £24,000 depending on experience and office hours of Monday-Friday with no on-call!
You will join a friendly, productive team on the outskirts of Scarborough, working for a family-run business that pride themselves in supporting their team and helping them develop their knowledge and skills through continuous training. You will have an hour's lunch, which you can enjoy in the break-out room watching Netflix and eating free snacks! Due to the nature of this role, some travel to sites may be needed and access to your own transport is essential.
As IT Helpdesk Engineer, you will be a core member of the team, aiming to resolve 1st and 2nd line support calls at your first point of contact from the customer. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing technical support to clients via remote and telephone support, always delivering an excellent level of customer service
Taking a customer focused approach to resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently, adhering to the companies agreed SLAs
Where necessary, escalating calls to 3rd line support, but seeing all incidents through to resolution to progress your own technical knowledge
Logging and updating all key information associated with support callsTo be successful in this IT Helpdesk Engineer role, you will have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, a genuine desire to improve your technical knowledge, and your experience will include the following:
The ability to diagnose and troubleshoot IT issues
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows and ideally cloud technologies is essential
Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, VMware, and Veeam
Strong networking expertise including configuring switches and routers, and setting up firewalls
Experience as an IT Helpdesk Engineer, IT Support, IT Engineer, 1st line, or in a similar role
Experience in IP telephony, MAC, Hyper-V, SharePoint, and qualifications such as Cisco or CompTIA is desirable but not essential to be successful in this roleThis role is based in Scarborough, but is easily commutable from Sherburn, Malton, Filey, Hunmanby, Pickering, and Bridlington.
