The opportunity:
Would you like to work for a world leader in the design, manufacture and support of helicopters? We are looking for Project Officers, who will work within the Helicopter division of Leonardo, situated in the country town of Yeovil, Somerset.
Reporting to the Programme Manager or Project Manager and, as a key role within an Integrated Project team, you will understand the importance of building a network and maintaining strong relationships in the overall success of the business and in achieving key milestones and deliverables.
You are adaptable and flexible with how you work, welcoming and introducing new approaches.

This role is a mixture of home based and onsite working and there will be the potential for international travel.
What you'll do as a Project Officer:
Carry out the work detailed in the programme or project plan
Co-ordinate the project tasks and their inter dependencies into the overall programme or project, including resolution or mitigation of any risks and issues arising during the project
Demonstrate effective communication with the wider programme or project team
Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with LH policies, and processes
Assist the Programme or Project Manager to deliver programme or project objectives
Carry out the elements (within your technical expertise) of the programme or project you are tasked with
Setup and chair programme related meetings, following-up with effective actions and outcomes
Generate programme reports for approval by the Programme or Project Manager
Contribute to the overall programme schedule working together with the cross-functional Planners
Manage Authorisations in line with level of accountability
Manage Profitability in line with level of accountability
Provide administrative support to the programme or project manager, governed by the PMO
Identify, capture and administer the risk register, advising the programme or project manager as risks arise that are likely to affect delivery of programme or project objectives and to be part of the risk reduction process, in accordance with LH policy and processes
Provide information for programme or project documentation
Produce programme or project products as planned to the required level of quality and to timescales
Interface between the project and functional business areas (IPTs as applicable) in line with level of accountability to achieve the overall project deliverables
Manage Customer and vendor engagement in line with level of accountability What we need from you:
You really must have:
Strong team working skills, with the ability to focus on how your role and expertise contribute to the overall aim of the programme or project
The skills to apply recommended Project Management and Risk Management standards with support from the project team
Experience working within a business environment
A collaborative attitude, to enable effective communication with both internal and external customersIt would be nice if you had:
Technical expertise in Project Management, such as experience constructing schedules using Microsoft Project or the use of Earned Value Management techniques
Experience working within Aerospace, Technical or a large sized International company Security Clearance
