Avanti Recruitment is currently working with a company that specialises in real-world traffic data and analytics based in Manchester and is recruiting for a Graduate/Junior Java Developer.

You will be working on a project which will utilize AI to provide accurate real-time data to drivers. Ultimately resulting in less congestion and providing a more accurate ETA. You will be working on a platform that is utilising a huge, 20 billion points per day, amount of real-time and historical data.

On a daily basis, you will find yourself working in a small Agile team consisting of 1 Senior Developer, 1 Program Manager, and 1 other Junior Developer. You will work on building and testing scalable and reliable data-driven systems. You will be involved in working in a microservices environment and will be working across the full software development life-cycle. You will work closely with the other developers to develop new features and components, with a strong focus on the backend development. You will be helping massively with a migration of their stack, migrating from Python to a newer platform based in Java.

Experience Needed:

- 2:1 or above in Computer Science or similar

- Java experience and experience with Python

- Database knowledge (SQL ideally)

Desirable:

- Industry experience (1-2 Years is highly beneficial)

- Big Data

- Spark / Hadoop / Kafka

- AWS

- Docker / Kubernetes

Salary and Benefits:

Salary on offer is up to £45,000

Bonus 15%

Pension 10% from the company if you put in 7.5% otherwise will match

25 Days holiday + Bank Holiday

Flexi working hours

Hybrid Working (3 days in the office per week)
