Technical Manager
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Technical Manager to join a well-established business based on the outskirts of Wetherby. The role will involve ensuring that all company products comply with legal, statutory and customer requirements. Working with the MD to develop a company quality system and working with sales to develop an environmental policy to help reduce the carbon footprint.
You will be working closely with the Managing Director, Head of Purchasing and Head of Sales.
This role is full time Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm and Friday 9am – 4pm. Salary is circa £30,000 depending on experience, with excellent benefit including healthcare.
Responsibilities:
Provide a point of contact and effective channels of communications between our client and their suppliers.
Support and adhere to the company’s Health and Safety Policy and procedures.
Dealing with complications with products
Support the New Product Department (NPD) providing technical knowledge required to launch new ranges.
Ability to work with Customer Services team to develop a customer complaints procedure.
Maintain confidentiality, concerning the Company and its employees, at all times.
Confidentiality raise issues with suppliers and find pragmatic solutions to meet operational requirements.
Keeping up to date with legal requirements
Chasing specifications from suppliers and cross referencing
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in Food Science or related discipline, or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
Relevant food manufacturing experience.
Previous experience as a Technical Manager.
Knowledge of the principles, practices and regulations pertaining to food labelling.
Level 3-4 HACCP
Level 4 Food Hygiene
Lead auditor qualification
