IT Support Technician
Salary: £40-48,000 + benefits
Our client is an AIM listed financial services group. They are 10 years old, have many thousands of clients and are about 200 employees.
They are recruiting an IT Support Technician to join their growing business.
You are required to have proven experience of leading and developing IT support services demonstrating exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. Accountable for day to day support within a structured service framework, be able to prioritise workloads to maintain service levels and service KPI’s.
This role requires frequent travel to different sites around the UK therefore a willingness to travel and a full UK driving licence are essential. Experience of ITIL based service management and/or development of IT services within the financial services sector will have a distinct advantage.
You will bridge the gap between real-world problems and technical solutions by effectively translating complex business challenges into actionable technical requirements. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring that our organisation develops innovative, efficient, and scalable solutions to address a wide range of issues. This role requires a strong understanding of both business operations and technology, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.
Relevant Skills, Experience and Knowledge
You will ideally have experience of working within a financial services environment be certified with MSCA Office 365, Azure or Microsoft MCSE or have proven experience of customer facing hands-on support, maintenance and installation with the technologies listed below:

* Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to dissect complex problems and propose innovative solutions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Perform daily and weekly system maintenance checks to ensure the smooth running of the IT infrastructure.
Provide end-user support to diagnose and resolve IT issues related to hardware, software, and network.
Manage project work including migrations, office moves, and relocations to ensure seamless IT operations.
Coordinate incident response and ensure timely resolution of IT-related incidents.
Monitor and maintain Barracuda Firewall, Barracuda Backup, Sophos Central, and Sophos Firewalls to ensure high security and reliability.
Manage the Exclaimer email signature system to ensure consistent branding across all emails sent from the company.
Maintain and optimise Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint / OneDrive, and Azure Networking & Compute.
Collaborate with the IT team to plan and implement IT projects, upgrades, and migrations.
Ensure that all IT systems and software are up to date with the latest patches and updates.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, procedures, and system configurations.
Ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and best practices.
Collaborate with various stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, and technical teams, to understand and analyse real-world problems and challenges.
Translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications, ensuring that all essential elements are captured accurately.
Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify suitable technical solutions for addressing specific business problems.
Evaluate existing systems, processes, and technologies to identify areas of improvement and recommend innovative solutions.
Work closely with software developers, engineers, and other technical experts to ensure seamless implementation of technical solutions.
Provide clear and concise documentation of technical requirements, ensuring that all stakeholders have a thorough understanding of the proposed solutions.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to problem-solving and technical solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of projects and initiatives.
Participate in project planning and provide input on the feasibility and technical viability of proposed solutions.
Monitor the implementation of technical solutions, identify potential issues or bottlenecks, and propose corrective measures when necessary.
Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to non-technical stakeholders regarding technical aspects of proposed solution
