The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an On-board Software Architect to join the organisation at an extremely exciting and crucial time. You'll be responsible for the coordination of modularity and reusability across our Cockpit domain software architecture through coordination with other architects, product owners and developers. You will also be allocated to specific projects within the Vehicle Cockpit domain to lead the delivery of the architecture for a given product.

Working with the latest automotive technologies, you will ensure that software architectures are robust, reusable and extensible, resolving architectural challenges and ensuring clear communication of those architectures to stakeholders, through well-defined interfaces and dependency management.

You'll have the opportunity to be involved in the development of the future of automotive and will be influential in the development of the Software platform and features for Jaguar Land Rover vehicles across the range.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing software solutions to identify areas for reusability and improvement.
• Ensure architectural integrity of software solutions.
• Feasibility studies for platforms to be delivered as a single mainline
• Manage risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture.
• Evaluation of multiple system design concepts and maintenance of integrity between systems and components.
• Work closely with the squad's product owner and systems engineers to translate customer/business needs into system requirements and high-level designs.
• Cross functional technical reviews

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Ability to communicate clearly the complex concepts from the system level to the component level.
• Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance.
• Understanding of vehicle network architecture and service orientated architecture
• Understanding of system modelling languages (UML/ SysML)
• Strong knowledge and exposure to infotainment and cockpit architecture
• POSIX software platform design and implementation
• Excellent verbal and written communications.
• An individual with demonstrable experience of creatively solving technical problems.
