Solutions Architect – Hybrid remote – Manchester

To support growing business, our client is looking for a Solutions Architect to join the design team serving a high profile utility client.

This is a hybrid role requiring time in the office with colleagues and stakeholders, as well as remote work. Some travel is required though infrequent and based on demand.

Our client operates in Telecommunication Infrastructure Services and is part of the Telecom Division. Covering network lifecycles, they deliver Managed Services and Projects for fixed and mobile networks across operators and utilities.

Role Purpose:

The Solution Architect will create customer solutions, statements of work, costs and high level designs to support proposals. They will work with the customer and account teams to refine requirements, provide guidance and expertise to develop strategies for deliverable, operational and commercially sound solutions.

The role will be the design authority for end-to-end solutions and services. Responsible for working internally and directly with customers to design, cost and document offered solutions.

You will design, develop, document and deliver solutions for active and passive technologies within the customer's systems. You will evaluate technologies, ensure alignment with strategy and requirements, and ensure sustainable support models. Working with various teams to define and validate fit for purpose solutions. The role requires working closely with stakeholders, customers and suppliers for architectural, strategic and operational alignment.

Responsibilities:

Interpret customer needs and design custom solutions that are scalable, repeatable, and utilize existing services

Sign off on technical artifacts like designs, test plans, handovers, etc.

Influence and resolve issues under pressure to achieve desired outcomes

Build trusted advisor relationships as the technical end-to-end expert

Ensure designs are templated, modular and standardized

Drive quality assurance in design and implementation

Present and influence stakeholders and customers

Requirements:

5+ years technical solution design or consultancy experience with customers

*

Presentation, interpersonal, project management and problem-solving skills

*

Self-starter with a clear can-do attitude

*

Telco business process knowledge

*

Quickly learn and master new skills and products

*

Maintain industry certifications and technical knowledge

*

Relevant technical or business degree

*

Networking technologies like SDH, Microwave, MPLS, IP Networking

*

Power supplies, unified communications
