Senior Network Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer with experience of the Rail sector specifically MPLS/IP networks.
What you'll do:
Ensure network designs and solutions are developed to a high standard and comply to the technical requirements of the customer.
Design and implementation of network solutions, meet timescales and are within budget.
Ensure guidelines are developed to maintain network integrity and security.
Communicate design and network progress and challenges to customers and develop solutions.
Capture IDC/IDR review comments and close out DRN comments within rail projects
Assess, plan and manage continuous improvements projects using the best practice practices, tools and guidelines.
Maintain a resource plan to deliver network designs and network solutions for projects.
Develop migration plans and test strategies to implement solutions.
Coordinate and assign work to network team.
Feedback to Principal Engineer - Networks any design changes that have been found in implementation and testing phases.
Planning the commissioning/decommissioning of network systems.
Plan, implement and review changes with adherence to the Change Management guidelines.
Perform troubleshooting where required, and lead problem solving efforts, liaising with vendors and other third parties when necessary.
Ensure Implementation and testing phases meet project deadlines.
Establish guidelines and procedures for installation, maintenance, and management of networks.

You will have previous experience of working as a Senior Network Engineer within the Rail sector and have experience of MPLS/IP Networks. You will be used to producing networks designs, providing CRE support for the delivery of projects when required and be able to coordinate and manage design and implementation resources within the network and rail project team.
Key requirements:
Knowledge of Network Rail MPLS/IP network and related supported operational telecoms services for signalling, electrification, telephony, CCTV, customer information systems.
Cisco / Juniper Certifications highly desirable (CCNP, JNCIP).
Be able to produce network designs, scope of work documentation, schema outline designs, topology diagrams, detailed Infrastructure designs, bill of materials, physical & logical designs and node configurations.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to support and mentor other members of team.What we offer:
