Network Security Engineer

Dublin - Hybrid

6 Month Contract - Daily Rate

Responsibilities:

Identify/rectify any vulnerabilities in the network's security infrastructure

Collaborate with the Information Security team to respond to assigned tickets related to network security; blocking IP addresses and mitigating critical vulnerabilities

Ensure all network devices are regularly updated with the latest patches and software to shield the network from known and critical vulnerabilities

Establish and manage DDoS protection measures to safeguard critical external resources from attacks

Manage deployment and maintenance of CISCO Identity Services Engine (ISE) to deliver security for both WLAN and LAN

Work closely with network vendors, including F5, Checkpoint, Cisco, and Palo Alto, to support network security requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

5+ years experience in networks, encompassing LAN, WAN, Voice, Data, and wireless technologies, within a complex corporate setting

2-3 years of prior experience in the aviation industry

Understanding of how secure networks are established and delivered, potentially encompassing industry-specific considerations

One of the following certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP

Proficiency in crucial networking protocols: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SNMP, OSPF, and BGP

Knowledge of network monitoring tools: PRTG and Wireshark

Capability in IP addressing and subnetting for efficient network resource management

Experience with Checkpoint Firewall Management (specifically Checkpoint Maestro solution)

Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco networking equipment, including routers, switches, and Cisco ISE for enhanced security and access control

Familiar with proxy solutions, including Cisco IronPort, Web Titan Cloud, and Z-Scaler

Understanding of industry best practices for network security

Prepared to travel for tasks related to network security as required.
