Global Financial Services company are seeking an Applications DBA / Database Administrator to ensure the smooth running of databases and database platforms to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users (SQL, Azure, Power Platform). You will work with the broader Technology and Data team and assist the Data Architect in delivering the data vision and strategy.

The role is based in Cheltenham and requires 2-3 days per week onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain SQL Azure and on-prem databases

Build and maintain SQL Azure managed instances

Provide database administration on existing on-prem SQL Servers (Apply online only))

Maintain high availability (replication) of production databases to report SQL servers

Maintain replication of production databases to Azure managed instance

Design and implement solutions for hosting user interfacing datasets

Provide regular maintenance of SQL Server Statistics, Indexes and backups for key databases

Support user access in line with the company security model

Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards

Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity

Monitor database performance and SQL agent

Provide automation management and monitoring for Power Platform data flowsKey Skills & Experience:

Proven working experience as a Database Administrator

Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications

Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL

Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding

Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools

Ability to resolve problems using own initiative and implement the solutions.

Knowledge of MS SQL Server (Apply online only) (inc Azure)

Transact SQL

MS Power platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)

JSON (JavaScript Object Notation)

Knowledge of reporting dashboards / Power BI / SSRS

Knowledge of API (Application Programming Interface)

Understanding of Active Directory

Familiarity with DevOps practices

Knowledge of MS Office 365
