Software Engineer III
The selected candidate will join the CME Application Site Reliability Engineering Division in Belfast on the Production Support Group (PSG) team. The PSG team is a global team that provides 3rd line support for critical trading and post-trade solutions for our exchanges and clearing business, ensuring the resilience and scalability of our applications.
With DevOps and automation as a driving force, we are looking for a developer who can contribute to a family of applications through development of features and fixes, deployment automation and application support using both Java and Microsoft technologies.
Google Cloud Platform, Argo workflows, Kubernetes, and Docker name but a few of the technologies with which you will be working.

Principal Accountabilities:
• Problem/Incident Identification and root cause analysis.
• Resolving identified issues and defects.
• Considers the importance of industry standards/best practices whilst working.
• Exhibiting knowledge of SQL, including basic database modelling and tuning.
• Exhibiting language knowledge proficiency; writing application modules and unit tests with
minimal guidance.
• Assisting with code optimization, participating in code reviews, and conducting environment
build deployments.
Essential Criteria:
• Ideally 5 years' experience in a core programming language (Java, C# .NET, Python) and
object orientated development, with a willingness to cross train as required.
• Experience with relational databases ideally Oracle & SQL, Argo workflows (or equivalent),
Linux, WebSockets and Authentication technologies.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (relevant experience could substitute).
Desirable Criteria:
• Experience with cloud computing.
• Experience with containerized computing.
• Experience with microservices architecture-based platforms.
• Experience with Apache Kafka and message transport protocols.
