We have an exciting role available as a National IT Onsite Support Technician to initially join our team for a period of 12 months with your time shared between the Atherstone Head Office and our Regional Distribution Centre in Sawley.
Your role is to assist in the deployment of our ambitious IT system upgrade programme. Your excellent working knowledge in a range of IT Infrastructure topics will be key in proactively identifying and eliminating onsite issues prior to go-live and throughout the hypercare period.
The role will be assessed for extension towards the end of the term. This will be to determine whether further locations across the country will benefit from the same support offering
during the rollout. You will be working as part of a wider team of business and IT colleagues to ensure the success of this major project.

Your New Role
- Provide first and second level onsite support for a wide range of IT hardware and systems
- Maintain an appropriate incident log to identify and escalate any known errors to the Team Leader
- Maintain an understanding of user requests and open issues
- Ensure the wider IT team are informed of key incidents, emerging problems and escalate as required
- Test hardware connectivity, and installations to identify issues ahead of rollout
- Perform proactive testing, such as WiFi scanning, to mitigate against issues during rollout
- Perform system maintenance/support which will occasionally fall outside of normal business hours
- Physical installation of equipment onsite
- Create and maintain knowledgebase articles
- Communicate business updates such as outages to key stake holders
- Provide support and advice to colleagues on general video conferencing and end-user-device issues
- You will also be required to carry out any other duties requested of you by your direct Line Manager
About You
- Prior IT support experience required with good working knowledge and troubleshooting capability across a variety of end-user solutions:
- Microsoft 365
- Video Conferencing equipment
- Windows 10 / 11
- Basic networking
- Installing and maintaining general PC/Laptop hardware
- Printer hardware
- IOS / Android devices
- Good overall technical ability
- Understanding of working within good IT security practices
- Have excellent listening, interpersonal and strong communication skills.
- Be able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Full valid UK driving licence
