A global organisation are looking for a Head of Data to join one of their UK offices in either Newcastle or London - this will be a hybrid role where you'll spend 3 days per week in your closest office, with the rest working from home, and occasional travel to the other UK office.

Reporting into the CIO and managing a cross-functional team of 10, you will provide strategic and technical leadership across areas including data administration, data governance, data engineering, data analysis, reporting and data science activities. You will define the data strategy spanning each of these areas, with a particular focus on improving data science capabilities, and will lead a technically talented team in delivering exceptional business outcomes.

You will need to not only understand the importance of day-to-day operational excellence in data management, but also and importantly, be able to leverage data using analytics and data science to gain insight into key business opportunities and present these to business stakeholders as actionable insights.

This is an incredibly varied and wide-ranging role, with the ultimate goal of helping this business to become truly data-driven.

Requirements:

Track-record of developing data strategy, policies and procedures in a dynamic environment

Experience in data science

Experience in data governance and data quality

Experience in data visualisation would be desirable

Strong leadership skills and ability to promote collaboration across different teamsBenefits:

Salary up to £100,000 depending on experience

10% discretionary annual bonus (paid pro-rata every 6 months)

25 days holiday plus additional day for birthday plus bank holidays
