What you'll do...About Team: U.S. Technology: This business closely partners with our U.S. stores and eCommerce business to serve customers by empowering associates, stores and merchants with technology innovation. rom grocery and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. provides the deep assortment that our customers appreciate - whether they're shopping online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps or shopping in a store. The focus areas include customer, stores and associates, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science and search & personalization.
Our team is responsible for design, development, and operations of large-scale orchestration system operating high scale. We interact with multiple teams across the company to provide scalable robust technical solutions.
What you will do:As a Software Engineer III for Walmart Labs, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Execute & Drive manual Accessibility testing for web and app experiences
- Lead internal testing team on manual Accessibility testing for web and app experiences to include: Estimation of testing, prioritization of team assigned tasks
- Coach team on working with the application teams to resolve any issues that arise out of the testing process.
- Lead engineering office hours, implement training for application teams, support internal testing team to lead technical discussions on features they test.
- Report and escalate any issues that may affect the schedule, budget, or quality of the product or the testing process.
- Act as an Accessibility SME representative when interacting with application teams and vendors.
- Coach team on reporting and troubleshooting of bugs to identify the root cause of the issue (e.g. code inspection, AT/browser compatibility checks)
- Effectively communicate test plans, test results, and test metrics to team.
- Partner with the product and engineers to ensure all areas of the application are fully tested and issues are clearly logged and prioritized consistently.
What you will bring:- Bachelor's Degree in engineering (preferrbly computer science or related field) and 3+ Year of Accessibility testing experience
- In depth knowledge of the following languages: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, WAI-ARIA,
- Assistive Technology Tools: JAWS, NVDA, TalkBack, VoiceOver, switch device, ZoomText, Dragon Naturally Speaking, VoiceControl
- Experience using testing tools: aXe, WAVE, Color Contrast Analyzer, Accessible Name & Description Inspector (ANDI),
- Performing accessibility testing on Windows/macOS with various browsers including Chrome/Safari/Firefox/IE
- Experience performing accessibility testing of native mobile applications on Android and iOS
- Strong knowledge of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 and section 508 with the ability to independently classify issues based on SC
- Ability to take lead on WM internal day to day testing activities
- Ability to manage workload independently and perform in a fast paced environment
- Cross functional partnership
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred qualifications: - React Native
- iOS and Android app development
- Proficient with Charles Proxy
- Experience in defect tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, AMP, ARC, etc.)
- Certifications: IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS), Certified as a DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester Version 5 (TTV5)
